The answers below cover most questions. If yours is not here, write to hello@audeno.app. We answer ourselves.
What is free?
The full text of every book, in every language it has, its quotes, and the introduction plus the first three main lessons of every course. You can read whole books without buying anything.
What do I pay for?
The complete audio course of a book: every lesson, with its narration, structure and the author's own words. One purchase per book, at the price the App Store shows (4.99 US dollars, adjusted by country). It opens that book's course in every language it has now and every language added later. There is no subscription.
Does buying one book open the others?
No. Each book is bought on its own. The free lessons and the full text of every other book stay open.
Can my family share a book I bought?
Not at the moment: Family Sharing is not available for Audeno purchases. A purchase opens the book on every device signed in to your own Apple Account.
How do I restore my purchases on a new iPhone?
Sign in to the same Apple Account you bought with, then open My library and tap Restore purchases. The same button is in Settings and on the purchase screen. Purchases belong to the Apple Account, not to the phone.
A purchase is waiting for confirmation. What now?
Some purchases need approval first, for example Ask to Buy in a family, or a confirmation from your bank. The book opens by itself once Apple confirms the payment; you do not need to pay again. Until then the free lessons stay open.
Does Audeno work offline?
The texts and quotes of every book are inside the app and work offline. Each lesson downloads from Apple's iCloud servers the first time you play it, usually within a few seconds, and then stays on the iPhone. For a book you own you can download the whole course at once (about 100 to 190 MB per language, best over Wi-Fi) and listen with no connection. A connection is needed for those downloads, to buy a book, to restore purchases and, if you turn it on, for iCloud sync. Downloads can be deleted in Settings, Downloads, and fetched again later.
What does iCloud sync do?
It is off until you turn it on in Settings. Then your listening progress, reading positions, bookmarks, quotes and lesson notes are kept in the iCloud of your own Apple Account, so your other iPhones with Audeno see the same. When you connect a device you choose what to do with what is already there: merge, download the iCloud copy, or replace it with this device. The app keeps recovery copies on the phone before replacing anything. You can turn sync off, or delete the iCloud copy, at any time in Settings.
Which languages?
The books and courses are in English and Ukrainian; choose the language of the content in Settings, Language. The interface itself comes in ten languages. Buying a book opens its course in every language.
Who narrates the courses?
The courses are narrated with professional synthesized (AI) voices, chosen for each book and language and checked by listening before release.
Where is Audeno available?
At launch, Audeno will be on the App Store in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Ukraine. We open more countries as the rights in each book are confirmed there.
Which iPhone do I need?
Any iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Audeno is made for iPhone; on an iPad it runs in iPhone compatibility mode.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are made through the App Store and refunds are handled by Apple, under its rules: ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I found a mistake in a text or a recording.
